NYE – Electric 80’s
It was the decade that redefined “Big Hair”. In fact, everything was big – hair, shoulder pads, synth sounds. The creation of MTV revolutionized fashion, the music industry and TV. It was a decade of excess and outrageous fashions.
The 80’s are now back with a vengeance. And why not? It was a big, bright, bold decade full of youthful energy. Whitney wanted to dance with somebody and Devo needed to Whip it. Boys wore eyeliner and tight clothes and girls cut their hair short and dressed in fluro.
The ELECTRIC 80s SHOW was born from a love of the 80s by a group of musos who lived through it. For a lot of the band, the 80s were spent donning makeup and rocking the stage at Bombay Rock in Surfers alongside the likes of Psuedo Echo and Eurogliders. For some of the younger members it was rollerskating to Madonna and dreaming of being Baby in Dirty Dancing.
But it’s not a just the band members enthusiasm for the 80s that makes this show so sensational. The band utilizes the very best in world class touring technology. The ELECTRIC 80s SHOW meticulously and faithfully reproduces the sounds and the light shows that were a trademark of the Eighties music era. This show is fully costumed and with the entire stage themed for that big 80s vibe. It will be a night for 80s fans to remember as everyone is taken back in time.
As a group the members have been playing and touring together for the last 10 years as corporate band “Hot Sauce”. Hot Sauce is well known for its high quality musicianship and stability – they have successfully maintained the exact same line up for 5 years now which in the industry is almost unheard of. This band loves to play together and you can tell. They are booked year after year by large corporate clients for their functions and events.
12 months of rehearsals and preparation for the ELECTRIC 80s SHOW is now paying off with shows selling out and audiences loving the show. Every song is a hit in this musical tribute which includes many dance floor magnet pop classics that epitomize the best of the electronic early Eighties through to the explosion of the pop culture songs from the late Eighties. The biggest rock and glam bands of the Eighties are also featured and this fantastic combination of music is sure to keep everyone on the dance floor.
