This year, Twin Towns joins forces with the Salvation Army to make the Christmas a whole lot merrier for local families in need. On Thursday 19 December at 11am Qld, a special Morning Melodies concert – A Very Merry Twin Towns Christmas – will take place in the Showroom, with $2 from every ticket sold donated to the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.

Compere and comedian Chris McKenna will present an all-star cast, including tenor Roy Best, award-winning singer and actress Michelle Fitzmaurice, and a special guest appearance by the Salvation Army Choir. Expect all the classic Christmas carols, such as Silent Night, Away in a Manger, O Come All Ye Faithful, and one of the most superb renditions of The Holy City you’ve ever heard.

Twin Towns Salvation Army Chaplain Marty Thompson says attending this concert is an opportunity to make someone’s Christmas just that little bit more magical. “In recent years, Twin Towns has partnered with The Salvos via the Christmas Wishing Tree Appeal, which involved members donating toys as gifts.

“Through their Community Connect program, the Salvos identified a growing need for food vouchers and hampers at Christmas time.

“Those that attend this concert will be helping put food on the table and groceries in the cupboard for families going through tough times,” said Marty.
