At the recent Clubs & Community Awards, Twin Towns Conference & Event Sales Manager, Chrissie Thomas, was highly commended for her support of Rainbow Warriors Women in Business, a community initiative supporting women to reach their full potential. Chrissie was nominated by Rainbow Warriors founder Mem Hockley, who first met Chrissie in early 2018. Chrissie had heard about the not-for-profit organisation, which had already received assistance from ClubsNSW in the Newcastle region.

“Bringing Rainbow Warriors to the Tweed Shire proved to be an initiative Twin Towns was keen to support,” said Mem. “With Chrissie and the Club’s assistance, we have been able to provide resources, events and networking opportunities to help women lead their businesses and grow.”

Chrissie said attending the Awards night was a personally rewarding experience. “Seeing the valuable and life-changing work clubs are doing within their local communities was truly inspiring. NSW Clubs are heavily investing their time and resources to help disadvantaged kids and families, and currently, those affected by the drought. It reminded me not to sweat the small stuff. There are so many people across the State doing it tough and it was fantastic to see so many Clubs jumping in to help out.”

The Twin Towns Board congratulates Chrissie for her role in helping Rainbow Warriors change the lives and futures of Rainbow Warrior women across the Tweed. For more information about Rainbow Warriors, contact Mem Hockley on 0433 601 344.
