With New South Wales now officially 100% drought declared, Twin Towns donated $40,000 to four drought relief charities on behalf of members.

Twin Towns Services Club donated $10,000 to Team Rubicon Australia, a team of more than 30 Australian Defence Force veterans who use their skills and experiences to rapidly deploy emergency response teams around the country.

Another $10,000 was donated by the Club to the Rotary Club of Currumbin-Coolangatta-Tweed Inc which will be passed on to Rotary’s Drought Relief Appeal.

Twin Towns Community Foundation donated $10,000 to Rural Aid’s Buy A Bale, a drought relief campaign which provides meaningful support for farmers by delivering hay and other essential items to farmers who have no feed left for their cattle.

Another $10,000 was donated by the Foundation to the NSW Country Women’s Association (CWA) Disaster Relief Fund.

The CWA provides aid to drought-affected families to help them meet household expenses such as groceries, vehicle maintenance, school books and fees, electricity and other bills they may be struggling to pay.

The Board hopes this $40,000 will ease some of the burden facing our farmers and regional communities and are pleased to contribute to these nation-wide appeals on behalf of members.
